Client Testimonial

“Our experience with Katie Dowling was nothing short of amazing. My daughter is now 6 and just started kindergarten. She worked with Katie from the time she was 3 until the age of 5, which was most her pre-school years.

My daughter was diagnosed with an articulation delay around the age of 3. We began speech therapy through the state for one year. The speech pathologist we worked with was great, but we needed more… a more personal approach for both her and for us as parents. After finding Katie through a friend’s recommendation and an evaluation done at our daughter’s pre-school, we began one-on-one sessions with Katie at her home office.

My daughter loved going to see Mrs. Katie (and her adorable dog) and gave me such a hard time if we ever missed a week. Katie made her lessons fun and interactive, gave us pointers, worksheets, and games to play with our daughter at home, guiding us in ways to overcome her delay. Every time I picked up my daughter they would be playing a game, which was related to what they were working on, but my daughter had no idea they were actually putting in work! I never felt rushed out of appointments, and Katie was always there to answer any questions I had.

On a side note, Katie went above and beyond when I randomly called her to confide in her over Thanksgiving break about my daughter’s sudden phobia of balloons. My daughter was breaking down at birthday parties or anytime she saw balloons. It was a long-shot and definitely not part of the curriculum they had been working on, but I didn’t know who else to ask for help, so I called Katie. The next time I picked up my daughter from her session, she and Mrs. Katie were playing balloon volleyball, working through her anxieties. I could have cried. It was one of those moments that will sit with me forever.

Katie was a major part of our daughter’s success in overcoming her speech delay and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her.”

“Our family greatly appreciates and respects Katie Dowling.

Katie not only works with the child, but also explains the process and answers parent’s questions. She is knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Katie goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her clients. In our case and upon request, she made time to communicate and offer insight to school personnel. Our child’s success is due directly to her dedication. After a move to another state, I contacted Katie with some concerns. She made time for me and offered honest advice. Our family is grateful to have worked with her. Katie will work with scheduling issues. Her office is warm, child-friendly and welcoming. We recommend her services.”
